School Day
The Beginning & End of the School Day
The 32.5 hour expectation includes the time in each day from the official start of the school day (i.e. morning registration) to the official end to the compulsory school day (i.e. official home time). The 32.5 hour minimum includes breaks and lunch times as well as teaching time and any extra-curricular activities that all pupils are expected to attend. It does not include optional before or after school provision.

Leaving Your Child
The school gates will be open to parents and children at 8.40am; parents/carers are responsible for their children until they enter their classroom.
School starts at 08.40 and just before this, teachers will open classroom doors to welcome children. Registration will take place immediately. All children should be in school by this time and will be marked ‘late’ if not present by the time the registers are closed.
Meeting Your Child
All children should be collected from the doors through which the children leave, we request that parents/carers stay in the playground. Children should be met promptly at 15.15. If you are unavoidably delayed, you must telephone the school office to let us know. As the school gates are locked at 15.25, parents/carers collecting children after this time should go to the main office.
Alternative Collection Arrangements
If someone other than yourself is picking up your child (playdates / grandparents) you need to contact the school office, 01937 844395, prior to the time of collection to notify school. If the person collecting your child is unknown to us we will ask for a password which the class teacher will check when your child is collected with the designated carer.
Absence
To comply with Government regulations we would appreciate it if you could telephone, or write a note, to explain the reason for absence if your child is unable to attend school. If your child does not arrive at school by 9.00am, and we have not heard from you, we will contact you by telephone or text to ask where your child is. It is crucial for the safety of your child that you are aware of his/her whereabouts at all times.
Punctuality
Children arriving after 09.00am will be marked ‘late’. If a child is persistently late the Headteacher will be notified, and the Attendance Officer will contact the parent/carer to discuss any problems and offer support if needed.
* Please note that any children arriving after 8.45 must enter the building through the main school entrance and inform the office staff of their arrival.
Parking
Parents are politely requested not to drive down the school road to ensure the safety of all our children and families.
Remember that parking away from the school and walking the last part of the journey gives parents the opportunity to promote walking as good exercise and makes a contribution towards learning to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Dogs
For health and safety reasons, dogs are not allowed on the school site. The only exception to this would be, for example, is if a dog is being brought into class for curriculum purposes, or to assist someone with a visual impairment.
Smoking
Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not allowed anywhere on the school site, including directly outside the school gates.
Disabled Access
The school welcomes all children and adults into the school community. We have portable ramps available to facilitate easy access for wheelchair users to school, offices and classrooms.
