At St Mary's, in partnership with parents, carers and governors, we seek to make our school a place of high quality learning and interaction. It's a place to make friends and start on the lifelong learning journey. We recognise that children have one chance to enjoy their primary school lives so we do all that we can to make sure it is a special experience and everyone can grow and flourish. We strive to ensure that every child leaves us prepared for the future,  with the abilities, characteristics, and values necessary to pursue a life of fulfilment and happiness. 

We see children as individuals with differing needs and strengths.  Within our school, we aim to provide a supportive, positive, caring and safe Christian environment in which our children enjoy access to a wide curriculum which is stimulating and engaging and supports all children to achieve their full potential and celebrate their successes.

Our wonderful grounds provide the children with the regular opportunity for exploratory learning outside the classroom. This includes weekly forest school lessons where they discover small insects, learn about plants, build amazing dens, or simply immerse themselves in the outdoors while gaining insights into the natural environment.  Whilst learning how to look after the world they live in, forest school promotes self-esteem, creativity, independence and gives the children the confidence to take supported risks. 

Children at St Mary's value the outdoors and have expressed that our school should help to make the world a better place. So that's our goal, and we're working on it together every single day.
