Who Are the Friends of St Mary's ?

We are a group of parents, supported by teachers, who fundraise and provide extra support to the staff and governors of St Mary’s C of E Primary School. All parents are automatically part of FoSM when their child joins school and are always welcome to come to meetings and help with events.

Our aim is to help enhance the learning and social development of our children through providing additional resources.  Over recent years, money raised has enabled the funding of the following projects:

  • Outdoor reflective area/learning space
  • Playground extension with an all-weather surface
  • Timber adventure trail
  • Remarking the playground lines and signs
  • A donation to each class for resources to make learning easier and fun
  • Covered work area for children in key stage 1
  • Musical instruments and Science equipment
  • Significant investment in ICT resources
  • Significant investment in literacy resources
  • 1km running track
  • Outdoor learning area for Foundation Stage

Each year we fundraise for a specific area or a larger project over a number of years.  We are hugely grateful for the support of the school community and proud to have raised money to provide additional resources to enhance our children’s education and make school a fun place to be.

If you have any questions, do feel free to contact the Friends of St Mary’s as well as speaking to any of the staff at school.  You can contact us at: fosm@stmaryscofe.org.uk or catch up in the school playground.
