Volunteering at St Mary's

Do you have some free time?   Would you be interested in supporting children's learning at St Mary's?

Over the years St Mary's pupils have benefitted greatly from the generous and dedicated help of volunteers who give their time in a number of ways to support children's learning.  In the past our volunteers have been engaged in:

  • Supporting with outside playground supervision
  • Supervising on school trips
  • Reading with children in the classroom
  • General classroom admin tasks (which free up the staff for working with children)
  • Talking to children about their areas of expertise

There are many, many more ways in which volunteers can give time to support children at St Mary's.  Some people have made a weekly commitment, whilst others have been able to support on a more 'ad hoc' basis.  Whatever time is given is always greatly appreciated by the staff and pupils.

During the Covid Pandemic it was not possible to use volunteers in school, apart from a few very limited, outdoor roles.  Now restrictions are easing off we look forward to welcoming volunteers back into school.  If you are interested, please contact the school office (schooloffice@stmaryscofe.org.uk) and leave a phone number for us to get in touch with you.

Or you could download, complete and return the attached application form.

Please note that all our volunteers are subject to an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service and will need two referees.
